Your Valor Fireplace owner's manual includes instructions on routine maintenance such as glass cleaning and replacement of batteries in your remote receiver and handset. Scheduling a regular maintenance check with your dealer helps to ensure safe and efficient use as well as maximize the service life of your fireplace.

When performing routine maintenance, please keep in mind that fireplace surfaces, in particular the glass viewing window, are extremely hot during operation and will remain hot for a period of time after the fireplace is turned off.

GLASS FIREPLACE WINDOW

One of the by-products of the combustion process in a gas appliance is a mineral which can show up as a white film on the ceramic glass of the viewing door. It is believed to be associated with the varying sulphur content of the gas.

We have consulted with ceramic glass manufacturers and they cannot offer a definitive solution to this problem. This is a problem beyond our control and is not covered under warranty.

As shown in the photo, Dan carefully removes the glass window (after the fireplace has cooled down) before cleaning the fireplace.
